HRC
CCLT’s Homeownership Resource Center (HRC) is where all the training and preparation for homeownership happens. We opened in June 2004 as a one-of-a-kind service in Clackamas County. The HRC provides a centralized location for the educational opportunities CCLT provides for people who want to become successful homeowners. CCLT’s current educational offerings include free information sessions on the CCLT Homeownership Program, Homebuyer Education workshops, Financial Education, Individual Development Accounts (IDA) and homebuyer counseling. Other special trainings and events are also held at the HRC.
The HRC is open to all homeowners in Clackamas County and to those interested in becoming a homeowner from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and by appointment. We invite you to stop by the HRC, which is located in the CCLT office at 5427 Glen Echo Ave, Gladstone (please enter on Glen Echo side of annex) .
The HRC has a small lending library with books available on home repair, gardening, financial planning and other useful resources.
CCLT is forming a member-based Homeowner Services Committee that will be charged with designing the full scope of services provided by the HRC. Additional features the committee may decide to include would be a tool lending library, seed exchange, photocopy area and “how to” video library. Please contact us if you are interested in serving on this committee.
CCLT’s commitment to sustainability is woven throughout the planning and implementation of the HRC. To promote economic sustainability, we encourage participants to become financially wise and careful with their financial resources. Empowering people to engage in “Do It Yourself” maintenance and repair will help homeowners take more cost-effective approaches to managing their homes. Home maintenance, operations and repair information will emphasize energy-efficient approaches to operating a “green” home. We draw upon volunteers to their share skills and knowledge in the areas of budgeting, community involvement, and with participants. Contact us at 503-659-1618 x102 or education@clackamasclt.org if you’d like to volunteer.
