Financial Education
Participants in the Financial Education workshops meet one evening each week for six weeks. We discuss the information provided in the Money Smart curriculum for the first 5 weeks, then on the 6th week we put our household budgets together based on information we have been collecting over the previous weeks.
The topics we discuss include:
- financial decision-making
- financial goal-setting
- the importance of saving
- the importance of a household budget
- why your credit report is an asset
- understanding the different types of loans
- how to use credit wisely
- understanding your rights and responsibilities as a credit consumer
- understanding home loans
This workshop series is required for all Individual Development Account (IDA) participants. Click here for more information about the IDA program.
