Clackamas Community Land Trust is pleased to introduce our new Executive Director, Steven McDowell! Steven’s background in residential construction and development is what originally drew him to CCLT last year, as a member of the board of directors. He is the former founder and President of Eire Building and Development, a Clackamas County based company where he built homes using sustainable building practices. As president, he conducted project management, forecast housing trends, and marketed the organization to a variety of stakeholders.
Beyond his experience in the housing world, Steven is a motivated business executive with more than 20 years of expertise in a variety of sales and management roles. In these positions, Steven advised businesses large and small how to leverage technology to their benefit.
“I became aware of CCLT from a volunteer at a local fair in Oregon City,” Steven remembers. “As a builder I immediately understood the challenges of land costs related to the ability to provide affordable home ownership opportunities. So when I learned about CCLT I immediately wanted to be involved.
“I have served as a board member for CCLT for over a year and look forward to the opportunity to provide my leadership and experience to this outstanding organization. It is my honor to serve in this capacity for the greater good of the citizens of Clackamas County.”
Steven holds a degree in Business Administration and Marketing from Portland State University’s School of Business. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his lovely wife of 13 years, Justine, and their two sons Aidan and Keegan. As a native Oregonian, Steven likes to spend his free time fly fishing and rooting for the University of Oregon football team and the Portland Trailblazers.
